Ah yes, the dreaded three dimensional Design assignment “the tile project.” This was one of the most aggravating and time-consuming things I’ve ever made. We started with oil-based clay and created our tile design, which we then poured rubber into, to create a mold. From there, we used plaster and poured 16 to 18 molds of our tile, cut, glued, nailed, and stained a wooden frame for our peace, secured the tiles into place, and finally placed a wire on the back for easy hanging. It is now a coffee table in my parents’ basement. 8 weeks of work. And I love how she came out.
